Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Cory Ashby (ranked 3078 p4p, 25694 weight class) and Trae Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones has chosen King Von as his entrance music. Trae Jones has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Cory Ashby's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Cory Ashby!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Trae Jones!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, James Ackerman and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ashby tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Jones counters with a single leg into guard. Ashby didn't expect that.

Ashby has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Jones is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Ashby.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Cory Ashby.
