Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Daniel Monteiro! The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Mauricio Rocha and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Monteiro misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Sassaki.
Monteiro avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Monteiro throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Sassaki. Sassaki tries to clinch there but Monteiro circles away.
Sassaki fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Good shot there by Monteiro.
It looks like Lucca Sassaki has been cut. Sassaki fails with an attempt to clinch.
Sassaki shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Monteiro as he jumps to the side. Sassaki fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Monteiro sprawls well initially but Sassaki persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Sassaki trying to pass the guard but Monteiro defending well. Sassaki wants to lay and pray for a moment but Monteiro keeps working. Monteiro is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Monteiro is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Monteiro keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Monteiro is refusing to be controlled, as Sassaki sits in half guard. That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. A telegraphed right hand from Monteiro misses the target. Monteiro takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Sassaki looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Monteiro is fending him off so far but Sassaki persists. Nope, Monteiro circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lucca Sassaki. That's going to take a lot out of him. Monteiro misses with a looping right. Monteiro avoids the head kick by Sassaki.
Sassaki takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Monteiro throws an overhand right that drops Sassaki like a sack of potatoes! Monteiro dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!
