Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Darren Elkins (ranked 3622 p4p, 4463 weight class) and Gavril Tunison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Darren Elkins! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gavril Tunison ! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Alan Glass and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tunison walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Tunison is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Elkins. Tunison pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. As Tunison tries to get set, Elkins tries to push him back and clinch up but Tunison manages to avoid the attempt. Elkins lands a lovely overhand right. Tunison takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Elkins dips down and scores with a jab to the body. A head kick from Tunison lands but Elkins takes it in his stride. Elkins scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Tunison is rocked! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Tunison looks to land a body kick but Elkins moved away. Tunison is still on wobbly legs! Can Elkins finish him? Elkins fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Tunison , pushing him back against the cage. Tunison seems to have recovered his senses. Tunison with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Tunison must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Tunison stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Elkins swivels though and keeps the full guard. Elkins has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Tunison can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Elkins might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Tunison postures up.
Elkins manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Tunison manages to get himself to full guard.
This has been an exciting period of action! Elkins drops back looking for a leg! Tunison is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Tunison manages to kick Elkins off! Elkins jumps back into Tunison 's guard. Elkins throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Elkins drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Elkins jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Elkins wants to control from the top but Tunison keeps moving. Tunison wants to improve his position but instead Elkins has moved into half guard.
Elkins performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Tunison is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Tunison is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Elkins jumps into side control! Tunison is trying to work for a sweep but Elkins has mounted him! Elkins trying to control but Tunison is having none of it. Tunison wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tunison can't escape the position.
Tunison tries to escape but he's let his defenses down in doing so and Elkins has slipped in the rear naked choke! Oh, that's tiiiiiiiiight! Tunison is tapping! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
