Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ray Okino!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Evan Gilbert !
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, David Hoff and Winston Alpacca.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Okino has managed to clinch.
Okino jumps into guard, dragging Gilbert to the mat.
Gilbert won't allow Okino to sweep him here.
Okino manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Gilbert is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Gilbert tries to close the distance and clinch up but Okino swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Gilbert moves in looking to clinch but Okino pushes him off.
Okino is looking for a counter combo.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Okino misses with a jab, cross combination.
Gilbert is looking to clinch but Okino is avoiding it.
Okino throws a sloppy head kick
and Gilbert counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Okino went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

and Okino counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Gilbert is looking to stand up but Okino isn't so interested in that idea.
Okino is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Gilbert is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Okino engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Okino slips nicely into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Okino with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Gilbert is looking to escape.
Okino takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Okino is trying for a kimura here. Gilbert looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Okino wins by kimura!
