Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Manny Paiwia (ranked 4318 p4p, 3089 weight class) and Darren Elkins (ranked 469 p4p, 349 weight class). Elkins comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Central Cee - Loading kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Manny Paiwia has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Steve Smith and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A low kick from Paiwia misses
and Paiwia takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Elkins is looking to clinch.
Elkins misses with a straight right.
Elkins misses the jab.
Paiwia is looking to counter punch.
Paiwia drives through and clinches with Elkins against the cage.
Elkins changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Paiwia fights it off and pushes away nicely.

and Elkins counters with a stiff right hand.

Paiwia trying to control the action but Elkins is working from the bottom.
Paiwia is taking a breather. Elkins says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Paiwia stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Elkins swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Elkins trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Paiwia got a little sloppy there for a moment and Elkins has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Paiwia has managed to get both his arms back between Elkins's legs - danger averted.
Paiwia wants to control from the top but Elkins keeps moving.
Elkins looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Elkins keeping moving, preventing Paiwia from controlling successfully.

Paiwia wants to get up but he can't break Elkins's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Elkins wants to hit a sweep here but Paiwia passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Elkins there!
Paiwia lands a big shot there that rocks Elkins but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Elkins wants to control but Paiwia is having none of it.
Elkins is squirming around, avoiding Paiwia's attempts to control the action.
Elkins slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Paiwia scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Paiwia performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Manny Paiwia will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.
Horrible takedown attempt by Paiwia or perhaps it was just good defense by Elkins, which made it look bad.
Elkins shoots in for a takedown but Paiwia shows good takedown defense.

Paiwia walks into a stiff left hand from Elkins.
Paiwia moves into range and clinches up with Elkins.
Paiwia is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Elkins can't fight it off and eventually Paiwia manages to take the fight to the floor. Elkins looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Elkins had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Paiwia defends it easily.
Elkins looking to hit a scissor sweep but Paiwia is one step ahead there.

Elkins is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Paiwia trying to control but Elkins is working from the bottom.
Paiwia is really struggling to control Elkins but he's trying to hold on to the position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Paiwia is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Elkins is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Paiwia avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Elkins is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Paiwia has his hands clasped together but Elkins extends and breaks Paiwia's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Elkins.

Darren Elkins was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
