Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Cobra Jones (ranked 4520 p4p, 5217 weight class) and Jayson Howard (ranked 520 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Cobra Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jayson Howard!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Seu Braga and Matheus Silva.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Howard does no damage.
It looked like Jones was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Howard tries a head kick but it misses.
Jones shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Howard as he jumps to the side.

Jones is standing up over Howard. Howard looks to escape but Jones dives into side control.

Howard is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Jones is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Howard is looking to improve his position but Jones isn't that keen on the idea.
Jones wants to control the pace but Howard is squirming around nicely.
Jones takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Howard defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Jones.
Jones breaks from Howard's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Howard wants to control but Jones is having none of it.

Jones is landing with some decent strikes but Howard is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Jones jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Howard manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Jones cracks Howard with an elbow. That is naaassty.

Jones decides to stand back up.
Howard throws a head kick that misses.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Howard.
A shot to the liver by Howard. Beautiful body shot.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Howard misses with a head kick.

Howard throws a sloppy head kick and Jones moves out of range easily.

Jones has managed to clinch.
Jones tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Howard avoids it.
Howard misses with a punch to the body.
Jones lands a body punch in the clinch.
Jones goes for a takedown in the clinch but Howard prevents it.

Howard looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Howard can't find room to land a body shot as Jones controls the action.

Jones is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Howard is defending well for now.
Howard lands with a left to the head.
Jones wants to take the fight to the mat but Howard manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cobra Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jones misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Jones throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Howard on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Howard has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Jones is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Howard can't break the clinch.
Jones is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Howard is defending well.
Jones tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Howard just stands there and leans against the cage.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Jones blocks a head kick by Howard.
Jones feinted with a counter takedown.
Howard shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Jones as he avoids it easily.

Jones changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Howard looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Jones trying to control the action but Howard is working from the bottom.
Jones scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Howard to see if he's OK.
Jones is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Howard can do to turn this around?

Jones working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Jones is putting a hurting on Howard here, landing some big shots from side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Howard is trying to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jones goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Howard rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Jones's guard! Nice work there by Howard!

Jones has his feet on Howard's thighs here. He's pushed Howard off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Howard screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
