Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Shinnosuke Nakagawa (ranked 457 p4p, 710 weight class) and Quintus Dias (ranked 71 p4p, 118 weight class). Nakagawa comes into the arena with Koto - CloZee blaring out of the sound system. Dias has chosen No More Hot Dogs as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shinnosuke Nakagawa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Quintus Dias! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Colin Fotheringham and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dias walks into a stiff left hand from Nakagawa. Nakagawa misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. A combination from Dias does no damage. Nakagawa scores with a jab to the body. Nakagawa misses with a straight left. Nakagawa decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Nakagawa is trying to control. Dias wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Nakagawa is looking to advance position but Dias won't allow it. Dias is looking to escape. Nakagawa is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Dias is just riding it out for now. Nakagawa eventually gives up the hold. Dias told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dias is looking to control Nakagawa's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Dias avoid being mounted?
That's one minute gone in the round. Dias is refusing to be controlled, as Nakagawa sits in half guard. Dias desperately trying to maintain half guard. Dias is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Nakagawa is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Dias is looking to escape. Dias is staying active underneath Nakagawa, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Dias wants to improve his position but Nakagawa is controlling well.
Nakagawa is looking for a kimura but Dias is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Nakagawa to get the leverage. Dias is trying to stand up here but Nakagawa is controlling him well.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Dias leaves Nakagawa with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Nakagawa keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

A nice side step and Dias releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Shinnosuke Nakagawa. That's going to take a lot out of him. Dias leaves Nakagawa with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Dias looks like he wants to counter punch here. Dias rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Nakagawa moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Nakagawa tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Dias swivels and escapes. A little jabbing left from Dias on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Nakagawa scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.

Nakagawa tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Dias counters with a lovely shot to the body. Nakagawa throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Nakagawa falls off balance throwing a combination
enabling Dias to counter with a crisp jab. Quintus Dias is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. A punch combination from Dias misses. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Decent striking displayed by Nakagawa there. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Dias just misses with a punch to the body.
Dias steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Nakagawa. Dias only half commits to the counter leg kick. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Shinnosuke Nakagawa will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Dias lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Nakagawa has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Nakagawa and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Nakagawa keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Nakagawa looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. A slapping leg kick lands for Dias.
Nakagawa connects with a good right hand that stumbles Dias. Dias circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Dias is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Nakagawa rather than just go for the knockout. Nakagawa tests Dias's chin there with a solid looking shot. Dias loads up on a big right hand but Nakagawa slips the punch. Shinnosuke Nakagawa is winning the standup battle so far. Nakagawa closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Dias lands a nice uppercut. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nakagawa blocks the elbow strike.

Dias creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Nakagawa's defenses. Nakagawa has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Dias after a bit of a struggle. A short body shot lands from Nakagawa as the two fighters clinch.

Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Dias drops Nakagawa with a beautiful combination! Nakagawa stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Dias is looking for the KO!
Nakagawa is rocked! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Nakagawa lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Nakagawa throws a body punch but Dias moves out of range.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dias throws out a leg kick but Nakagawa moves out of range and Dias only half commits. Nakagawa tries to clinch up and Dias counters with a straight right hand. Nakagawa has his takedown stuffed and Dias counters with a right hand to the body. Dias takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Nakagawa feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Nakagawa stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dias swivels though and keeps the full guard. Dias can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Nakagawa controls the pace. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Quintus Dias showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards. Dias defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Nakagawa. Nakagawa steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Dias. Dias throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

As Dias tries to get set, Nakagawa tries to push him back and clinch up but Dias manages to avoid the attempt. A looping hook to the body misses from Dias. And that's the end of the fight! Quintus Dias comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Dias has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
