Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Diego Armando (ranked 3128 p4p, 2773 weight class) and Darren Elkins (ranked 355 p4p, 319 weight class). Elkins has chosen Central Cee - Loading as his entrance music. Diego Armando had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Darren Elkins!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Yves DeLean and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Elkins tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Armando paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Elkins moves to clinch but Armando breaks away
and Armando counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Armando ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
An attempted straight right counter from Armando misses the target.
Elkins looks to land a right hand but Armando moved out of range.
Armando slips a jab from Elkins.
Darren Elkins seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Armando cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Elkins drops his hands momentarily and Armando takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Elkins tries to clinch up but Armando circles away and keeps his distance.
Armando was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Elkins shoots for a double leg takedown but Armando sprawls well. He's pushed Elkins's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with each other but Elkins might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Armando has got the better of the exchanges.
