Coming up we have a middleweight kickboxing rules bout between Juan David Franco (ranked 1203 p4p, 4874 weight class) and Arturito Tampukpuk (ranked 179 p4p, 561 weight class). Franco's entrance music is Bullet For My Valentine- Tears Don't Fall. A fine choice. Arturito Tampukpuk told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Juan David Franco!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Arturito Tampukpuk!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Franco fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Tampukpuk on the side of the head.
Tampukpuk has managed to clinch.
Franco breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Franco moves out of range as Tampukpuk throws a body kick.
Tampukpuk goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Tampukpuk throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Tampukpuk misses with a lunging right hand
and Franco counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Franco steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Tampukpuk.
Tampukpuk looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Franco explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Tampukpuk lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Franco circles away quickly and effectively.
A big right from Tampukpuk misses.
Tampukpuk throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Franco makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Franco slips a jab and a cross from Tampukpuk.
Franco connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Tampukpuk sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Tampukpuk looks winded!
Franco feints and then cracks Tampukpuk's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Tampukpuk down.
Tampukpuk ducks into a a hook from Franco and goes down! He looks in a bit of a mess; will he beat the count?! 4,5,6,7,8 - he's up and looking to carry on! The referee looks into his eyes and sees that he's OK to continue!
Tampukpuk is rocked!
Franco scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Tampukpuk is still on wobbly legs! Can Franco finish him?
Tampukpuk throws a body kick despite being completely out of range
and Franco counters with an outside leg kick.
Tampukpuk seems to have recovered his senses.
Franco tests Tampukpuk's chin there with a solid looking shot.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Franco catches Tampukpuk with a right, a left, a right. It's raining punches and Tampukpuk forgot an umbrella! Another punch and he's down. This one is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:07 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Juan David Franco!
Juan David Franco is the new middleweight champion!
A relieved looking Juan David Franco thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
