Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jim Duggan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Drake Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Robert Douchet and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duggan throws an overhand right that lands on Johnson's shoulder, as Johnson tries to avoid the shot.
Duggan throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Duggan just misses with a punch to the body.
Johnson checks the leg kick.
Duggan throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Johnson sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Duggan swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Johnson drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Duggan defends it well.
Drake Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Duggan ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Duggan takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Johnson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Johnson seems to be working for a kimura but Duggan defends the submission attempt.

Johnson wants to work for an arm triangle but Duggan is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Johnson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Duggan doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Johnson.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Duggan tries to get to full guard but Johnson has control of the leg.
Johnson wants to free his trapped foot but Duggan is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Duggan is trying to maintain the position but Johnson is very close to passing his half guard.
Duggan tries to roll over but Johnson keeps him under control.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Johnson trying to mount his opponent but Duggan defends it.

Johnson is looking for a kimura but Duggan is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Johnson to get the leverage.
Johnson moves into full mount! Duggan won't be happy about that!
Duggan is trying desperately to improve position.
Johnson works his way to his opponent's back.

Johnson seems to be going for a rear naked choke. He has an arm under Duggan's chin but Duggan turns very nicely into Johnson's guard. Good BJJ skills being displayed there by Duggan.
Duggan working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Duggan trying to control but Johnson is working from the bottom.

Johnson looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Duggan trying to control the position from guard on top but Johnson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Johnson is pulling down on Duggan's head. It's preventing any offense from Duggan, at least for the moment.
Duggan has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Johnson has his foot on Duggan's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Duggan works his way back into a safe position though.
Duggan is looking to advance position but Johnson has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Johnson is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Duggan has managed to free his arm - good work.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Drake Johnson dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Duggan throws a shot from downtown. Johnson moves away and avoids it.

Johnson scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Duggan is trying to get back to half guard.

Johnson goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Duggan rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Johnson's guard! Nice work there by Duggan!
Johnson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Duggan content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Johnson has locked up a guillotine! Johnson's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Duggan is holding on here and Johnson must be using up a lot of energy. Duggan has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Johnson gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Drake Johnson!
After winning the bout, Drake Johnson thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
