PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Anakoni Kai (ranked 1487 p4p, 2968 weight class) and Kazuya Mishima (ranked 219 p4p, 400 weight class). Mishima has chosen Techno Syndrome Mortal Kombat as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kazuya Mishima!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Jonathan Paton and Steve Montenegro.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mishima is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kai.

Mishima looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Kai!
Kai tries to bench press Mishima off him but Mishima keeps the position.
Kai on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Kai can't do much from the bottom here.
Mishima creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Kai sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Kai tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The strikes coming from Mishima are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mishima is looking for a kimura but Kai is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Mishima to get the leverage.

Kai is refusing to be controlled, as Mishima sits in half guard.

Mishima is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Kai doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Mishima.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Mishima throws a big right hand that misses.

Kai is looking for a triangle but Mishima pushes his legs off easily.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Kai looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Mishima is defending well. Kai quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Mishima has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Kai celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
