Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Steve Louis (ranked 3906 p4p, 4058 weight class) and Ace Johnson (ranked 207 p4p, 214 weight class). Ace Johnson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Steve Louis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ace Johnson! The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Arvi Lind and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Louis circles away quickly and effectively. Louis shoots for a double leg takedown but Johnson sprawls well. He's pushed Louis's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Johnson rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Louis decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Johnson's guard. Louis trying to control but Johnson is working from the bottom. Johnson controlling the position. Johnson wants to sweep but no luck. Louis wants to pass the guard but Johnson is keeping the position. Louis definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Johnson tries to land a sweep but no joy. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Johnson thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Louis won't allow Johnson to sweep him here. Louis drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Louis jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Johnson looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson is adopting a defensive guard. Johnson keeping moving, preventing Louis from controlling successfully. Johnson looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Louis trying to control but Johnson is working from the bottom. Louis being controlled here momentarily.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Johnson moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Louis shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Johnson has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Louis throws a poor cross that misses
and Johnson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Some wild striking there from Johnson.

The fighters roll with the hold and Johnson manages to kick Louis off! Louis jumps back into Johnson's guard. Louis trying to control but Johnson is working from the bottom. Johnson is fighting to maintain full guard but Louis has managed to sneak the leg through. Johnson is not content to let Louis control the position. Johnson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Louis is working away from the top position though. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Johnson can do anything to dispel that myth. Louis trying to control the action but Johnson is working from the bottom. Johnson is in trouble now - Louis has advanced to mount! Johnson is desperately trying to improve his position but Louis has a good base and remains in mount. Louis avoids the attempt from Johnson to control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Louis is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Johnson is surviving well by controlling Louis's body position as best he can. Louis looking for a guillotine from mount but Johnson is having none of it. Johnson is trying desperately to improve position. Louis jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Johnson manages to avoid the submission attempt. Louis working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Johnson is looking to reverse the position. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Steve Louis dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. Louis changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Johnson tries to avoid it but Louis manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Johnson to the ground. Johnson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. As Louis backs off Johnson throws a huge counter combo but Louis manages to avoid it all. Louis fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Despite the aggression on Johnson's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Louis changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Johnson tries to avoid it but Louis manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Johnson to the ground. Johnson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Steve Louis. That's going to take a lot out of him. Louis with a lazy takedown attempt and Johnson counters with a nice uppercut. Louis doesn't manage to clinch there - Johnson circles away.
Johnson lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Johnson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Louis moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Johnson tests Louis's chin there with a solid looking shot. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Louis misses with a head kick.
Johnson gets caught flat footed, as Louis shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Louis trying to control the position from guard on top but Johnson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Louis preventing the sweep.

The fighters are pinned against the cage. Johnson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Johnson! But no joy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. The fighters circle momentarily. Johnson darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Louis blocks a jab. Louis closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Louis shoots in but doesn't get the takedown letting Johnson counter with a right hand. Louis shoots and misses and Johnson counters with a left and a right that stings Louis. Louis gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Johnson counters with a stiff right hand. Ace Johnson seems to be getting the better of the standup. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Johnson throws a shot from downtown. Louis moves away and avoids it. Louis appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Louis keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Johnson. Johnson looks to throw the jab but Louis is out of range. Louis darts in looking for a takedown but Johnson gets double underhooks and turns Louis into the cage. Johnson manages to break the clinch.
Louis shoots in but no luck this time. Louis slips under a jab. Johnson throws a hook to the side of Louis's head but Louis sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Steve Louis is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Louis slips under a jab. Louis dives in for a single leg takedown but Johnson sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Johnson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Johnson throws a right and a left that both miss.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Louis moves out of range of the strikes. Louis attempts a counter takedown but Johnson avoids it well and moves away. Louis shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Johnson as he jumps to the side. Johnson throws a series of punches but Louis avoids them all with ease. Johnson might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Johnson throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Louis sees it coming and avoids it easily. Louis ducks under a wild hook from Johnson. Johnson scores with a nice head shot. The fighters circling - Johnson throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Johnson has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Louis slips a jab and a cross from Johnson.

Ace Johnson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round! Louis fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Louis misses with a takedown and Johnson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Louis tries for a takedown but Johnson circles away easily and Johnson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Steve Louis. Louis looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Johnson is fending him off so far but Louis persists. Nope, Johnson circles away and we're back to standing. Louis ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Johnson throws an overhand right that lands on Louis's shoulder, as Louis tries to avoid the shot. Johnson lands with an uppercut that bounces Louis off the cage and back into range.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Louis shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Johnson counters with a stiff right hand. Johnson scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Louis fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Johnson pushing out the jab but it's not landing. The crowd cheers as Johnson lands an impressive looking overhand right. Louis doesn't seem phased though. Louis uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Johnson. Louis shoots in for a double leg but Johnson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Louis dodges the punch combination from Johnson.
Louis is looking to counter the offense by Johnson and move into the clinch. Louis throws a combination that misses and Johnson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Johnson misses with a hook. Louis will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Johnson connects with a good right hand that stumbles Louis. Louis circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Louis keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Johnson. Louis dodges the punch combination from Johnson.
Louis shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Johnson pinned against the cage. Johnson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Louis looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. This has been an exciting period of action! Johnson scores with a nice strike.
And that's the end of the fight! Ace Johnson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Johnson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
