Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Steve Louis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ace Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Arvi Lind and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Louis circles away quickly and effectively.
Louis shoots for a double leg takedown but Johnson sprawls well. He's pushed Louis's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

and Louis decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Johnson's guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Johnson can do anything to dispel that myth.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.
Louis changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Johnson tries to avoid it but Louis manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Johnson to the ground. Johnson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
As Louis backs off Johnson throws a huge counter combo but Louis manages to avoid it all.

Despite the aggression on Johnson's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Louis changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Johnson tries to avoid it but Louis manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Johnson to the ground. Johnson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Steve Louis. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Johnson lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Johnson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Louis moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
The fighters circle momentarily. Johnson darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
