PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sebastion Lynar (ranked 296 p4p, 1000 weight class) and Tetsuo Shima (ranked 40 p4p, 142 weight class). Shima has chosen The HU - Yuve Yuve Yu as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sebastion Lynar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tetsuo Shima!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Ian Loll and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shima rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Lynar moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Lynar throws a big counter combination but Shima scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Lynar tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Shima manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Lynar misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Shima lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

The fight stays on the outside here - Lynar looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Shima tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Lynar manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Shima looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Sebastion Lynar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

Shima is leaning against Lynar and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Shima's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Lynar has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Shima after a bit of a struggle.
Lynar jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Shima walks away with a smile on his face. Lynar gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sebastion Lynar. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Tetsuo Shima comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Shima winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
