Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Thad Thayer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 32 - 38 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lyle Alzado!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thayer fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Alzado throws a series of punches but Thayer avoids them all with ease.
Alzado throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Good leg kick by Alzado.
Alzado throws a predictable looking body shot
and Thayer counters with a good, hard body kick but Alzado shrugs it off.
A head kick by Alzado misses
and Thayer makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Alzado really felt that one!

Thayer fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Thayer moves in looking to clinch but Alzado pushes him off.

Thayer fires out a quick counter leg kick but Alzado just manages to avoid it.
Lyle Alzado seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Thayer fails in his attempt to clinch.
Thayer darts in looking for a takedown but Alzado gets double underhooks and turns Thayer into the cage.

Alzado fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Thayer checks it well.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Thayer manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Alzado tries a knee to the head but Thayer blocks it.

Alzado throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

and Alzado counters with a crisp one two that drops Thayer! Alzado thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Thayer to his feet! Thayer is in big trouble!
