Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Krisp Enwah (ranked 2901 p4p, 3071 weight class) and Lydell Poag (ranked 364 p4p, 378 weight class). Enwah comes to the cage accompanied by “Whatever”. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Krisp Enwah! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lydell Poag! The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Alyssa Summers and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Poag is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Poag looks to land a combination but Enwah avoids it well. Enwah gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Poag to score an easy takedown into full guard. Enwah keeping moving, preventing Poag from controlling successfully. Poag preventing the sweep. Poag in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Poag engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Enwah definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Poag looking to sit in guard and control but Enwah gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Poag wants to sweep but no luck.
That's one minute gone in the round. Enwah postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Poag pulls Enwah in close to prevent any damage. Enwah trying to control the position from guard on top but Poag is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Poag controls Enwah momentarily but Enwah frees himself. Poag working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Enwah. Enwah preventing the sweep.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Enwah trying to control but Poag is working from the bottom. Poag is trying to control the position but Enwah postures up. Enwah trying to control the position from guard on top but Poag is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Poag misses with a left hand and Enwah counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Poag blocking the ground and pound attempt from Enwah. Poag wants to control but Enwah is keeping busy.

Poag really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Enwah. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Poag is looking for a sweep. Enwah is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Enwah content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Enwah is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Poag has managed to free his arm - good work. Poag tries to get to full guard but Enwah has control of the leg. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Poag is still trying to improve position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Jab by Poag. Enwah lands with an uppercut that bounces Poag off the cage and back into range. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Enwah misses with a looping right. Poag looks to throw the jab but Enwah is out of range. Enwah half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Poag shoots in and bounces Enwah off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Krisp Enwah overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Poag loads up on a big right hand but Enwah slips the punch. Enwah closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Poag struggling a bit here. We've been informed that Poag has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Poag tries to improve position but can't. Enwah trying to control the position but Poag is working away. Enwah throws an elbow but Poag slips to the side and avoids it well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Enwah misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Poag can do anything to dispel that myth. An elbow from Enwah crashes against the mat.

Enwah half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Poag is breathing heavily. Enwah moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Enwah ducks under a wild hook from Poag. Poag might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Enwah slaps away a takedown attempt from Poag, before circling back to the center of the mat. Enwah appears to be looking for a counter takedown. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Krisp Enwah dominated that second round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round! Poag looks to land a right hand but Enwah moved out of range. Poag throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Poag tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Enwah has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Poag is looking to improve his position but Enwah isn't that keen on the idea. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Enwah throws some wild stikes that Poag manages to avoid easily.

Enwah controlling his opponent. Poag tries to lock up and control but Enwah gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Enwah controlling from the full mount. Poag manages to regain half guard. Good work. Poag wants to get back to full guard. Enwah thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Enwah working Poag over with strikes. Poag keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Poag is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Enwah's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Enwah's back! Poag lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Poag.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Krisp Enwah. I think Enwah has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
