This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the bantamweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 25 wins and 20 losses; Ono Kuronoa! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Hilo, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 2 losses; Bernie Sanders! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Matheus Silva and Emerson Jorge.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Kuronoa gets in close and instigates a clinch. Kuronoa has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Sanders uses from the top position. Sanders wants to control from the top but Kuronoa keeps moving. Kuronoa is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Kuronoa escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sanders gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Sanders pushes down on Kuronoa's leg and manages to get into half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kuronoa looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Kuronoa trying to hold on to Sanders's head to control him but Sanders postures up.
Kuronoa is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Crapollas Gym, so we'll see if he gets out of it.

Kuronoa has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Sanders is working away from the top position though. Kuronoa is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Sanders pulls his head out easily. Kuronoa wants to control but Sanders is keeping busy.

Sanders wants to control but Kuronoa is keeping him busy. My spies in Uncle Nastys Training Shack inform me that Sanders has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

That's nine minutes gone in the round. Kuronoa pulls Sanders in to control the position. Sanders is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Kuronoa has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Sanders is looking to defend but Kuronoa has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Sanders! Kuronoa pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Sanders taps out and this one is all over!
