The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big left from Whang misses.
Whang lands a really nice looking cross but Rusev seems unphased.
A slow jab from Whang misses its intended target.
Whang tries to sprawl but Rusev drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Whang should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Rusev trying to control the action but Whang is working from the bottom.
Rusev wants to pass the guard but Whang is defending well.
Rusev wants to work for an arm triangle but Whang is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Rusev tries to pass to full mount but Whang defends it.
Whang is trying to control but can't.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Whang has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Brooklyn Mixed Martial Arts. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
