This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 4 losses; Beaver Shaver! And in the blue corner, fighting out of London, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 2 losses; William Smyth! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Daniel Franklin and Cecil Peabody.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Smyth stuffs the takedown attempt from Shaver. Shaver gets slowly back to his feet. Shaver is trying hard to land a takedown here. Smyth sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Smyth moves into range and clinches up with Shaver. Smyth prevents a takedown attempt there.

He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Shaver tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Smyth is looking for a kimura but Shaver is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Smyth to get the leverage. Shaver is refusing to be controlled, as Smyth sits in half guard. Smyth perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Smyth is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Smyth wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Shaver, who protects the arm well. Smyth is trying to get an arm triangle but Shaver is defending well.

That's thirteen minutes gone in the round. Smyth has control of Shaver's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Shaver regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Smyth controlling from mount. Let's hope that Smyth has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Shaver is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

That's fourteen minutes gone in the round. Smyth tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Smyth tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Smyth has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! A lull in the action here. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Smyth is looking to take a break and control but Shaver is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
