Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Fardoche Fermier! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bantam Rooster! The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Joseph Jones and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rooster lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Rooster moves out of range of the body kick. Rooster swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Rooster takes a swing at Fermier's ribcage but misses. Fermier looks to land a body kick but Rooster moved away. Rooster looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Rooster pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Fermier tries to counter by clinching up but Rooster breaks away and moves out of range. Fermier looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
It looks like Fardoche Fermier has been cut. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fermier steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Rooster. Fermier is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Rooster. Fermier tries to clinch there but Rooster circles away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fermier looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Rooster throws a hook but Fermier blocks it. Fermier is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Rooster. Bantam Rooster seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Fermier avoids a punch combination nicely.
Fermier tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Rooster manages to circle out of the way. Rooster misses with a hook. Fermier ducked under it nicely. Fermier is looking to counter the offense by Rooster and move into the clinch. Rooster misses the shot to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rooster throws a body shot but no joy. Rooster tests Fermier's chin there with a solid looking shot. Rooster swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Bantam Rooster is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Rooster circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Fermier to the canvas! Fermier doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Rooster keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bantam Rooster! Bantam Rooster decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
