This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 8 wins and 3 losses; Rumsfeld Shart! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 3 losses; Dmitry Provodnikov!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Franklyn Lucas and Steve Montenegro.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Shart stuffs the takedown.
Provodnikov tries to keep at a distance but Shart has taken the fight into the clinch.
Shart decides to pull guard.
Shart looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Provodnikov must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Shart can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Provodnikov controls the pace.
It looks like Provodnikov might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Provodnikov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Shart swivels though and keeps the full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Provodnikov tries to free his leg and advance position but Shart is retaining full guard.

Shart pulls Provodnikov in close to his closed guard and prevents Provodnikov from doing any damage or advancing position.

Provodnikov wants to control from the top but Shart keeps moving.
Shart escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Provodnikov gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Provodnikov controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Provodnikov has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Shinobi Martial Arts & Ninjutsu . Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Provodnikov is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Shart controlling the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Shart trying to keep a closed guard but Provodnikov is proving a slippery customer.
Provodnikov wants to control from the top but Shart keeps moving.
Shart is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Provodnikov trying to control the position from guard on top but Shart is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Provodnikov is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Shart knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Provodnikov wants to control but Shart is keeping him busy.
Provodnikov might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Shart haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Provodnikov moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

Shart is looking to regain half guard here but Provodnikov keeps moving and retains side control.
Provodnikov is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Shart is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Shart has good solid back control here.
Provodnikov won't enjoy being in this position. Shart looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Provodnikov is tapping - it's over boys! Shart picks up the submission victory!
