Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Willy Mataitai!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 20 - 2, fighting out of Tokyo, Nig Nig!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Richard Clark and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mataitai rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Nig moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Nig swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Nig takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Nig missing with a left hand there. Mataitai was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Mataitai on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Nig walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
It looks like Nig Nig has been cut.
Nig throws a hook to the side of Mataitai's head but Mataitai sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Nig feints and then cracks Mataitai's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Mataitai down.
Mataitai takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
It looks like Willy Mataitai has been cut.
Nig looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Nig scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Nig is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Mataitai flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Mataitai is out cold! Nig holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Nig Nig!
Nig Nig decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
In defeat, Willy Mataitai stepped up to the mic, saying 'Back to the gym.'.
