Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Husein Magomaevaboff (ranked 278 p4p, 525 weight class) and Wanderlei Rua (ranked 18 p4p, 28 weight class). Magomaevaboff comes to the cage accompanied by Shaolin of Dagestan. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 29 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Husein Magomaevaboff!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Wanderlei Rua!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Sam Margolis and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Magomaevaboff throws an off balance right hand
letting Rua counter with a right hand.
It looks like Husein Magomaevaboff has been cut.
Magomaevaboff has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Chakuriki LA Gym in the buildup to the fight.
Magomaevaboff throws a hook but Rua avoids it easily.

and Rua connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

A jab from Rua finds it's way through Magomaevaboff's defenses.
Rua throws a lazy right hand but Magomaevaboff sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Rua flicks out a counter leg kick but Magomaevaboff steps away.
Rua waves his right hand out in front of him, looking to distract Magomaevaboff. Oh, he's unloaded a beast of a left hand - it worked! He's dropped Magomaevaboff to the canvas! Can he finish him!?
Rua wants to get up but he can't break Magomaevaboff's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Rua slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Magomaevaboff isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Rua stacks Magomaevaboff on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Rua!

Rua is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Let's hope that Rua has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
