Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Vlad Hansen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Carlos Rocha!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hansen tries to close the distance and clinch up but Rocha swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Rocha is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Rocha fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hansen, pushing him back against the cage.
Rocha tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Rocha decides to pull guard.
Hansen has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Rocha to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Hansen is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Rocha pulls down on the head and he's put Hansen to sleep! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Carlos Rocha!
After winning the bout, Carlos Rocha thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
