This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 8 losses; Beaver Shaver! And in the blue corner, fighting out of London, with a TWGC record of 3 wins and 2 losses; Olyksandr Chai! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Joseph Jones and Chad Campbell.
Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious? Shaver shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Shaver (2) vs (0) Chai We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Shaver seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Shaver seems to be working for a kimura but Chai defends the submission attempt. Shaver is pressing down on Chai's thigh, looking to free his foot. Chai is holding on for now. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Shaver is working hard here to advance position.

Shaver wants to control but Chai is keeping him busy. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Still in half guard, Shaver seems content to control. Shaver trying to advance position but Chai counters by regaining guard. Shaver won't allow Chai to sweep him here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shaver tries to free his leg and advance position but Chai is retaining full guard. Chai pulls Shaver in close to his closed guard and prevents Shaver from doing any damage or advancing position. Shaver is pushing down on Chai's leg trying to pass to half guard. Chai is fighting to maintain full guard but Shaver has managed to sneak the leg through. Shaver looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Shaver wants to pass to mount but Chai is defending the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Chai is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Chai is defending against the submission attempts here by Shaver.
