Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Arthur Bennings (ranked 5471 p4p, 4298 weight class) and Brandon Novak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Arthur Bennings!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Brandon Novak!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Sam Margolis and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Novak throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Bennings tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Novak is in Bennings's guard.
Novak is looking to pass into half guard but Bennings pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Bennings is in guard.


Novak looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Bennings gets to his feet. Novak looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Novak throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Bennings closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Bennings is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Novak can't fight it off and eventually Bennings manages to take the fight to the floor. Novak looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Bennings is stalling in the full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Novak has his foot on Bennings's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Bennings works his way back into a safe position though.
Bennings wants to control from the top but Novak keeps moving.
Bennings throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Novak works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Novak throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Bennings escapes and throws Novak's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Bennings wants to control but Novak is keeping him busy.

Bennings decides to stand back up. Bennings steps back and let's Novak get back to his feet.
Bennings tries to score with a low kick but Novak moves his leg out of the way.
Novak tries to counter by closing the distance.

Bennings pushes Novak up against the cage in a clinch.
Bennings tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Bennings jumps guard and drags Novak to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Bennings will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Novak controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bennings wants to sweep here but Novak controlling him for the moment.
Novak slips nicely into half guard.
Novak wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bennings keeps working.

Novak is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Bennings is just riding it out for now. Novak eventually gives up the hold.
Novak perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Novak wants to control but Bennings is keeping him busy.

Novak is working for a kimura but Bennings is defending it quite comfortably.

Novak is trying to control the action in half guard but Bennings is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

We've been informed that Novak has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Bennings got a little sloppy there for a moment and Novak has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bennings has managed to get both his arms back between Novak's legs - danger averted.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
