PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Joshua Tautala (ranked 4257 p4p, 24732 weight class) and Gakus Amiga (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Joshua Tautala has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Joshua Tautala seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tautala shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Amiga's guard.
Tautala is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Tautala not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Tautala seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Amiga for as long as he can get away with.
Tautala has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Amiga is trying to control the position from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

It looks like Gakus Amiga has been cut.
Tautala tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Tautala closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Amiga to the mat! Amiga manages to get full guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Amiga gets caught flat footed, as Tautala shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Amiga really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Tautala. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Tautala shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Amiga manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Amiga is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Tautala presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Tautala is pressed up against the cage. Amiga has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Tautala down to the mat. Tautala avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
