Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Raate Road (ranked 15 p4p, 98 weight class) and Jensen Chelios (ranked 3 p4p, 11 weight class). Road's entrance music is For Heavy Metal we will die!. A fine choice. Chelios has chosen Shabba as his entrance music. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Raate Road!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jensen Chelios!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Shigeki Sano and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Road misses with a jab, cross combination.
Road moves out of range of the strikes.

A swing and a miss from Chelios.
Chelios displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Road throws out the jab.
Chelios throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Chelios looks to land a combination but Road avoids it well.
Road shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Chelios eats them both and turns towards Road to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Chelios takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

A lazy left from Road finds it's target.
A nice leg kick lands there from Road.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Chelios manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Road manages to get himself to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Chelios wants to control from the top but Road keeps moving.
Chelios slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Chelios stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Road swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Road is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Chelios jumps into side control!

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Chelios uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Road has time to react.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Road connects with a nice short shot to Chelios's temple.

Road wants to lay and pray for a moment but Chelios keeps working.

A very excited looking Raate Road made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
