Howard comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Can't Touch This kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Howard looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Howard gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Duenas to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Duenas trying to control but Howard is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Duenas decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Howard, up you get!
Howard lands with a nice combination. Duenas backs away looking to recover.
Howard lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Duenas circles away quickly and effectively.
Howard tries to clinch but Duenas moves out of range.
John Howard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Duenas keeps the fight on the outside.
Duenas is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Howard's half guard.
Howard tries to get to full guard but Duenas has control of the leg.

Duenas has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Howard is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Duenas yanks on the arm and Howard is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Duenas.
