The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cross ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Bystrom moves away.
Bystrom fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Cross manages to avoid it.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Cross! But no joy.
Nice jab there from Cross.
Cross getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Bystrom lands a nice shot to the body.
We've been informed that Cross has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Bystrom moves into the clinch successfully.

Cross pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Cross scores with a jab to the body.
Bystrom misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Cross.
Bystrom just misses with a punch to the body.
Cross closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Bystrom! Cross dives in looking to finish! Bystrom is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
