The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.


The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Acosta leaves Blaird with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Acosta slaps away a takedown attempt from Blaird, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Acosta decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Acosta is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Blaird to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Blaird shrugs it off.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Acosta has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Blaird has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Acosta is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Blaird tries to escape but Acosta has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

Acosta is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Blaird is the more experienced fighter here and he's going to need to draw on some of that experience if he's going to pull this one out the bag.

Acosta is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Blaird has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Acosta has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Blaird taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Acosta doesn't care though - he's delighted!
