Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Maximus Furioto (ranked 222 p4p, 70 weight class) and Artturi Reinikainen (ranked 36 p4p, 14 weight class). Furioto kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is 韻踏合組合 - . Reinikainen has chosen Viimeinen päivä as his entrance music. Artturi Reinikainen will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Maximus Furioto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 31 - 18 - 3, fighting out of Amsterdam, Artturi Reinikainen!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Andrew Berry and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Furioto throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Reinikainen was covering up waiting for the punch and Furioto finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Furioto might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Furioto tries to free his leg and advance position but Reinikainen is retaining full guard.
Reinikainen wants to sweep but no luck.
We've been hearing good reports from Furioto's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Furioto postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Reinikainen is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Furioto, into his guard.

Reinikainen is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Furioto gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Furioto is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Reinikainen's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Reinikainen's back!

Furioto has hold of Reinikainen's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Reinikainen manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Furioto goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Reinikainen is on top in guard.

Furioto is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Reinikainen pulls his head out easily.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Artturi Reinikainen dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Furioto accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Maximus Furioto overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Furioto drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Furioto seems to have locked his on tight now - Reinikainen screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Furioto, as he picks up the win!
