Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Cole Lake (ranked 3569 p4p, 2195 weight class) and Brendan Rowen (ranked 406 p4p, 284 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Cole Lake! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 11 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Brendan Rowen! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Cecil Peabody and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lake takes one to the side of the head.
Rowen shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Lake pinned against the cage. Lake gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Lake walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Lake has managed to clinch.
Lake has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Rowen uses from the top position. Rowen loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Lake definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Rowen tries to free his leg and advance position but Lake is retaining full guard. Lake wants to get back to his feet but Rowen is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Lake kicks Rowen off and gets to his feet. Lake ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Jab from Rowen. Rowen dives in and grabs Lake's left leg, looking for a takedown. Lake pushes down on Rowen's head and hops out. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Rowen tries to clinch up but Lake circles away and keeps his distance. Lake gets a clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lake tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Rowen just stands there and leans against the cage. Lake slowing the pace effectively. Rowen drops down looking for an ankle pick but Lake pulls his leg out and moves away.
Cole Lake has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brendan Rowen. Lake shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Lake feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Lake sitting in guard here, content to control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lake decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Rowen, up you get!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rowen fails with a takedown attempt. Horrible takedown attempt by Lake or perhaps it was just good defense by Rowen, which made it look bad. Lake gets in close and instigates a clinch. Rowen prevents the takedown attempt.
Lake throws a punch but it's blocked by Rowen. Lake tries to pull guard but Rowen won't allow it.
Rowen lands with a right to the head. Lake gets underhooks to prevent Rowen's takedown attempt.
Rowen lands a right hand that snaps the head of Lake backwards. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Lake tries to score a body lock takedown but Rowen shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Lake with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lake manages to break the clinch.
Rowen keeps the fight on the outside. Rowen cracks Lake with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Rowen swats away the attempt to clinch by Lake. Lake shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Rowen's guard. Lake is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Lake decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Rowen, up you get!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rowen shoots in but Lake avoids the takedown attempt easily. Lake lands a two punch combo.
It looks like Brendan Rowen has been cut. Rowen cracks Lake with a right hand to the side of the head. Lake swinging wildly here.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Lake takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Lake gets the takedown into side control. Lake throwing shots but missing, from side control. Lake working the ground and pound but Rowen is defending the strikes. Lake tries to move to mount but Rowen blocks the move with his legs. Rowen is trying to control Lake's posture but Lake avoids it. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Cole Lake dominated that round. The cut man is working on Brendan Rowen's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.
Lake looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Rowen! Rowen is trying to get back to half guard. Rowen tries to escape but Lake is in control. Lake stands up. Lake fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Rowen sprawls well initially but Lake persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Lake controlling the action here. Rowen has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Lake is working away from the top position though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lake is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Lake with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Rowen slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Lake gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Rowen waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Lake. Lake throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Rowen sees it coming and avoids it easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Lake tries to close the distance and clinch but Rowen swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Lake closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Rowen is working to avoid the ground and pound but Lake connects with a decent elbow. Rowen is looking to reverse the position. A lull in the action here. Rowen prevents Lake from improving position. Rowen tries to control but Lake manages to take his back. Rowen is in bad spot here.
Lake really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Rowen. Cole Lake overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Rowen is really stuck here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lake controls the action. We've been informed that Rowen has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Rowen manages to reverse the position and now he's in Lake's guard. Nice work there by Rowen.
Lake kicks Rowen off and gets to his feet. No luck for Lake with that takedown attempt. Rowen swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Cole Lake is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Lake is looking to clinch but Rowen is avoiding it.
Donk. Rowen catches Lake right on the button with a cross. Lake rushes Rowen and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Lake has Rowen pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Rowen manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Rowen working some nice short punches in the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lake is trying to drag Rowen to the mat but Rowen just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cole Lake. That's going to take a lot out of him. Rowen is pressed up against the cage. Lake has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Rowen down to the mat. Rowen avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Rowen will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Lake shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Rowen moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Lake content to stall in guard here. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Cole Lake dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Brendan Rowen's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round! Lake moves away from the strike by Rowen. Lake moves into the clinch. Rowen misses with some punches.

Rowen is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Lake manages to pull guard.
Lake wants to get back to his feet but Rowen is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Lake manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage. Lake jumps into guard, dragging Rowen to the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lake pushes Rowen off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Rowen pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Lake fails to land with a series of punches.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Rowen! But no joy. Lake takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Rowen might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Lake darts in trying to clinch and Lake takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Cole Lake seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lake uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Rowen. No luck with that takedown attempt from Rowen. Lake closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Rowen lands a nice shot to the body. Rowen swings wildly with an uppercut but Lake uses good head movement to avoid it. Lake tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Lake pulls guard effortlessly. Lake wants to get back to his feet but Rowen is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Great action here. Lake is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Lake looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Lake perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lake looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Lake content to control rather than advance. Cole Lake is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Rowen trying to hold on to Lake's head to control him but Lake postures up.
Rowen is looking for a sweep. Lake is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Lake controlling the action here.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Lake blocks a jab. Lake tries for a takedown but Rowen circles away easily and Rowen counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. A big right from Rowen misses. Brendan Rowen has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Rowen misses with a looping left.
And that's the end of the fight! Cole Lake showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Lake, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
