Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Katashi Takahashi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Enrich Aldrich! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Ren Mimura and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Aldrich thumps Takahashi with a low kick. Aldrich connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. The fight moves into the clinch position. Aldrich has picked Takahashi up - he's going for a ride! Aldrich dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Aldrich trying to control the pace. Takahashi actively working from the bottom here. Aldrich performing his best blanket impression for a moment. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. That's one minute gone in the round. Aldrich moves out of range of the strikes. Takahashi tries to keep at a distance but Aldrich has taken the fight into the clinch. Aldrich wants the takedown. Takahashi is fighting it off but Aldrich persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Takahashi's guard against the cage. Aldrich sitting in guard here, content to control. Takahashi is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Aldrich has his hands clasped together but Takahashi extends and breaks Aldrich's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Takahashi.
