And in the blue corner, fighting out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 4 wins and 1 losses; Paulo Mendes!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Thiago Cunha and Edson Gomes.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.
Brown shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Mendes's guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Brown (2) vs (0) Mendes
We've been hearing good reports from Brown's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
