PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Billy Cubbedge (ranked 2677 p4p, 2212 weight class) and Cayden Abner (ranked 345 p4p, 294 weight class). Abner has chosen Bulls On Parade as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Billy Cubbedge is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 24 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Billy Cubbedge !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cayden Abner!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Cubbedge . Abner does a little dance to reset his feet.
Cubbedge shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
letting Abner counter with a right hand.

It looks like Billy Cubbedge has been cut.
The crowd cheers as Abner lands an impressive looking overhand right. Cubbedge doesn't seem phased though.
Abner uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Cubbedge is rocked!
Cubbedge waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Abner.
Abner throws out a counter right but Cubbedge avoids it with no problem.
Abner moves away from the strike by Cubbedge .
Cubbedge ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Abner has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The fighters circling - Abner throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Cubbedge throws a sloppy body shot
and Abner counters with a stiff right hand.
Oh Cubbedge is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Abner throws a right and a left that both miss.
Cubbedge seems to have got his legs back now.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cubbedge misses the body punch

and Abner counters with a crisp right hand that drops Cubbedge ! Abner lets Cubbedge back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Cubbedge misses with a body shot.
Cubbedge jabs Abner to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Abner jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Cubbedge misses with a double jab
and Abner scores with a counter punch that sends Cubbedge to the canvas! Abner smells blood - he's punishing Cubbedge with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Cubbedge has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Cayden Abner!
Cayden Abner decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
