Williams feints and as Gherris raises his hands in defense, Williams changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Williams with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Williams is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gherris tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Williams decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

and Williams counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Korin Gherris. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Williams looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Gherris with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Still in half guard, Williams seems content to control.
Williams frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Gherris keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Williams is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
Williams bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Gherris reaches up around Williams 's neck trying to control. But Williams takes advantage instantly and he's locked on an arm triangle! Big trouble for Gherris! Oh that looks nasty! A human being's head is not meant to turn that color! Gherris is out! He's gone limp! The ref steps in to break the fighters up and Williams celebrates the victory with the fans!
