The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shida takes a swing at Babyara's ribcage but misses.
Francisco Babyara seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Babyara throws the left hand but Shida avoids the punch easily.
Shida keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Shida uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Babyara.

and Shida counters with a nice right hand that sends Babyara toppling to the canvas! Babyara scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Shida finish him?!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Babyara cracks Shida with an open hand slap.
Oh Babyara is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

and Shida counters with a right hand to the body.
Babyara seems to have got his legs back now.
No joy there for Babyara, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Shida jabs Babyara to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Babyara is breathing heavily.
Babyara takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Babyara circles to his right, straight into a beautiful hook by Shida. Babyara falls face first into the canvas - great knockout victory for Shida!

After winning the bout, Takeda Shida thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
