Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Robert Laird! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Mairo Lippmaa! The judges for this bout are Topper Green, Ben Hemmingworth and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lippmaa throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Laird's waist but Laird gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lippmaa off to one side. Laird scores with a takedown into Lippmaa's guard. Laird has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Laird preventing the sweep. Laird is sitting in close to Lippmaa's body. Lippmaa has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Laird is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Laird is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Lippmaa.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Mairo Lippmaa! After the fight, Mairo Lippmaa was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
