Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jim Lingfield (ranked 23761 p4p, 4812 weight class) and Dexter Doolittle (ranked 0 p4p, 492 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jim Lingfield! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Dexter Doolittle! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Frank Dennis and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A momentary lapse in concentration from Doolittle enables Lingfield to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Doolittle manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Lingfield works a leg free and moves into half guard. Doolittle is trying to control but Lingfield passes into side control!
Lingfield landing a few strikes. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lingfield landing a few strikes. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Doolittle can do anything to dispel that myth. Doolittle can't do much from the bottom here. Lingfield lands a nice forearm strike. You can see the frustration on Doolittle's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Doolittle is looking for a sweep. Lingfield remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Doolittle gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Lingfield prevents Doolittle from getting the reversal. Lingfield sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Doolittle keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Lingfield takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Lingfield lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Doolittle is looking to get to half guard. Lingfield controlling the pace for now. Lingfield is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Doolittle has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Lingfield postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Doolittle looks a forlorn figure.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Lingfield takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lingfield's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Lingfield cracks Doolittle with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Doolittle is rocked! Lingfield lands a heavy shot. That's hurt Doolittle! Lingfield sees the opportunity and turns up the heat - strike after strike land to the defenseless Doolittle and the ref dives in to save him! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Jim Lingfield! Jim Lingfield tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
