The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Chris Saunders and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pfanne pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Pfanne looks to land a right hand but Popizicki moved out of range.
Popizicki throws the left hand but Pfanne avoids the punch easily.
Pfanne misses with a looping left.
We've been hearing reports that Pfanne has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Pfanne takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Pfanne uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Popizicki.
Pfanne shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Popizicki sprawls well. Popizicki wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Pfanne gets slowly back to his feet.
The crowd cheers as Popizicki lands an impressive looking overhand right. Pfanne doesn't seem phased though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Pfanne shoots in looking for a takedown but Popizicki manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Pfanne's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Popizicki stands up over Pfanne, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Pfanne tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Popizicki has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

Pfanne is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
