Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Griffin (ranked 4331 p4p, 25284 weight class) and Andrew Callaghan Iv (ranked 480 p4p, 0 weight class). Griffin comes to the cage accompanied by Little Child - The Beatles. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Daniel Griffin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Andrew Callaghan Iv!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Phil Schofield and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Griffin connects with a high kick.
Callaghan Iv slaps away a takedown attempt from Griffin, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Callaghan Iv doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Callaghan Iv throws a head kick that misses.
Both fighters circling a little - Griffin finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

Griffin closes the distance and clinches.

Griffin pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Griffin changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Callaghan Iv tries to avoid it but Griffin manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Callaghan Iv to the ground. Callaghan Iv escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Callaghan Iv looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Griffin is fending him off so far but Callaghan Iv persists. Nope, Griffin circles away and we're back to standing.

Griffin forces Callaghan Iv back against the cage and clinches.
Griffin prevents the takedown attempt.
Callaghan Iv jumps guard but Griffin stands there with Callaghan Iv around his waist. Callaghan Iv gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Callaghan Iv tries to stall but Griffin uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Griffin misses with a punch to the body.

Griffin pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Griffin has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Callaghan Iv has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Griffin is breathing heavily.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Griffin shoots for a double leg takedown but Callaghan Iv sprawls well. He's pushed Griffin's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Griffin crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Callaghan Iv - the referee stops the clock and Griffin gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Callaghan Iv. Griffin manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

It looked like Griffin was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Andrew Callaghan Iv showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Horrible takedown attempt by Griffin or perhaps it was just good defense by Callaghan Iv, which made it look bad.

Griffin stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Griffin wants it to stay on the feet.

Callaghan Iv throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Griffin stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Callaghan Iv shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Callaghan Iv showed some decent athleticism there.
Griffin wants to improve his position but Callaghan Iv is controlling well.
Griffin is trying to control but Callaghan Iv passes into side control!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Griffin tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.

Callaghan Iv goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Griffin turns into him and now he's in Callaghan Iv's guard.

Griffin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Callaghan Iv swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Callaghan Iv is controlling Griffin's posture.

Callaghan Iv pushes Griffin off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Callaghan Iv feints a jab promting Griffin to slip. Callaghan Iv then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Griffin slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Callaghan Iv throws a series of punches but Griffin moves out of range.

And that's the end of the fight!
Andrew Callaghan Iv comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Callaghan Iv has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
