Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Joe Irwin (ranked 222 p4p, 299 weight class) and Sergey Shipilov (ranked 29 p4p, 39 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Irwin might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to High Plains Drifter - Beastie Boys . The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 30 - 18 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Sergey Shipilov!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Hirohito Nitta and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A good leg kick by Irwin.

and Irwin counters with a stiff right hand.

Shipilov is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Irwin uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Shipilov.
Irwin was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Sergey Shipilov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Irwin moves forwards but Shipilov connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Shipilov cracks Irwin with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Irwin falls to his knees and Shipilov doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:17 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sergey Shipilov!
An out of breath Sergey Shipilov thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
