The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Soderberg closes the distance and clinches.
Soderberg has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Mendes uses from the top position.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mendes has his hands clasped together but Soderberg extends and breaks Mendes's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Soderberg.
