Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Bryant Davis (ranked 2639 p4p, 3113 weight class) and Ari Katajamaki (ranked 151 p4p, 170 weight class). Davis comes to the cage accompanied by Rocky Road. Ari Katajamaki acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bryant Davis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 6 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Ari Katajamaki! The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Dmitry Maklakov and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Katajamaki tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Davis swivels and escapes. Katajamaki shoots in looking for a takedown but Davis manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Katajamaki's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Davis looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger. Davis misses with a straight right. Katajamaki fails to land the takedown. Davis fires out a quick counter leg kick but Katajamaki just manages to avoid it. Davis looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Bryant Davis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ari Katajamaki. Katajamaki dives in and grabs Davis's left leg, looking for a takedown. Davis pushes down on Katajamaki's head and hops out. Katajamaki staying out of range there. Davis feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Katajamakis jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Katajamaki shoots in for a takedown but Davis shows good takedown defense. Davis throws a jab when Katajamaki was well out of range. Katajamaki drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Davis defends it well. Davis throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Davis throws a looping overhand right but Katajamaki ducks down to avoid it. Davis getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Davis misses with a looping left. The fighters circling - Davis throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Davis misses with a looping right. Davis is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Davis missing with a left hand there. Katajamaki was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
That's one minute gone in the round. Katajamaki misses with a takedown attempt - Davis sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Katajamaki ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Katajamaki ducks under a wild hook from Davis. A jab from Davis misses. A jab from Davis finds it's way through Katajamaki's defenses. Katajamaki drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Davis is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Katajamaki off and has taken his back! So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Davis's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. If it seems like I'm not saying a lot, it's just because Davis is stinking the place up with his stalling. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Davis leaves Katajamaki with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Bryant Davis is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Davis throws a hook but Katajamaki blocks it. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Nice uppercut lands for Davis. That snapped Katajamaki's head back.

Davis misses with a leg kick and Katajamaki decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Davis's guard. Davis is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Katajamaki presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Katajamaki decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Katajamaki is keen to just control but Davis is a slippery customer. Davis wants to improve his position but Katajamaki is controlling well.
Davis desperately trying to maintain half guard. Davis continues to stall. Davis has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Katajamaki is working away from the top position though. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Katajamaki throwing shots but Davis is blocking nicely. Katajamaki working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Davis is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Katajamaki's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Katajamaki's back! Davis really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Katajamaki. Katajamaki trying to control the hands but Davis won't let him. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Davis is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Davis has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Katajamaki can't escape the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Davis controlling the position well here. Katajamaki rolled but Davis kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
Ari Katajamaki has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Bryant Davis overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! More hug and hope from Davis.
And that's the end of the fight! Bryant Davis showed his dominance in that final round. Well Davis has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
