Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Joe Irwin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 11 - 1, fighting out of London, Quebra Cranio!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Irwin shoots in looking for a takedown but Cranio manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Irwin's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Irwin moves out of range as Cranio strikes.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Irwin looking for a takedown.
Cranio misses with a hook from the clinch.
Cranio has Irwin pushed against the cage.
Irwin jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Cranio walks away with a smile on his face. Irwin gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joe Irwin. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Cranio counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Irwin closes this distance looking for a takedown but Cranio circles away.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Irwin is defended easily by Cranio.

Cranio lands a big right hand that sends Irwin crashing to the mat! Cranio stays standing though and waves Irwin back to his feet!

and Cranio counters with a right hand to the body.
Irwin fails with the takedown
enabling Cranio to counter with a crisp jab.
Joe Irwin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A jab lands there for Cranio.
Irwin looks for the body kick but Cranio saw that one coming.
Irwin shoots and misses
letting Cranio counter with a right hand.
Cranio leaves Irwin with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Irwin defending well as Cranio loads up on a big left hand.
Cranio throws a series of punches but Irwin moves out of range.
Cranio connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Irwin shoots in for a takedown but Cranio shows good takedown defense.
Irwin misses with a takedown
and Cranio counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Irwin is breathing heavily.

Irwin moves into the clinch successfully.
Cranio stalling in the clinch.
Cranio fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Irwin breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Irwin takes one on the button.

and Cranio counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Irwin tries to clinch up
and Cranio scores with a counter punch that sends Irwin to the canvas! Cranio smells blood - he's punishing Irwin with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Irwin has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Quebra Cranio!
An out of breath Quebra Cranio thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
