Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 14 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Hafir Dharris ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Ngytsj Diesel! The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Igor Prikhodko and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dharris fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Diesel manages to avoid it. Dharris tries to score a power double leg takedown but Diesel sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Dharris somewhat. Dharris sets himself, and Diesel steps forward looking for the clinch! Dharris avoids it this time. Diesel uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Dharris . Dharris looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Diesel is fending him off so far but Dharris persists. Nope, Diesel circles away and we're back to standing. Diesel moves into the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dharris prevents a body shot from Diesel. Dharris has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Diesel is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hafir Dharris . That's going to take a lot out of him. A short uppercut from Dharris . Diesel misses with a body punch.
Dharris lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Diesel backwards. Diesel with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Diesel effectively controlling the action here. Diesel is struggling to control the position. Diesel is trying to push Dharris away but Dharris has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Dharris works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Dharris makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Dharris is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dharris is sitting in close to Diesel's body. Diesel has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Dharris is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Dharris is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Diesel.
