Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Manny Franco (ranked 24243 p4p, 2402 weight class) and Lochlain OBrien (ranked 293 p4p, 143 weight class). OBrien has chosen Come out and fight! as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lochlain OBrien!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Winston Howard and Steve Erwin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

OBrien clinches up with Franco and pushes him back against the cage.
Franco misses with a shot to the kidneys.
OBrien is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Franco to keep the fight standing.
OBrien has Franco pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Franco manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

OBrien has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Franco is trying to keep an underhook but OBrien manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Franco has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. OBrien is working away from the top position though.
OBrien is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

OBrien shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Franco as he avoids it easily.
OBrien closes the distance and clinches up with Franco, looking for a takedown. OBrien pushes Franco against the cage but Franco circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Franco is looking for a counter combo.
Horrible takedown attempt by OBrien or perhaps it was just good defense by Franco, which made it look bad.
OBrien fails in his attempt to clinch.
OBrien tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Franco connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Franco throws a solid leg kick but OBrien takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Franco.

OBrien clinches.
Franco throws a head punch that misses.

OBrien pulls guard effortlessly.
OBrien manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Franco manages to get himself to full guard.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Franco holds on and takes a little breather.
OBrien working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Franco's head.
Franco managing to control the position.
Franco keeping moving, preventing OBrien from controlling successfully.
OBrien throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Franco works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
OBrien slips nicely into half guard.

Franco tries to regain full guard. Instead though, OBrien has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
OBrien can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Franco is looking to escape.
OBrien looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Franco is desperately trying to improve his position but OBrien has a good base and remains in mount.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Franco in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Franco throws a low kick, looking for OBrien's leg but OBrien calmly moves out of range.
Franco swings and misses with a hook to the body.
OBrien avoids the body shot from Franco.
OBrien shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Franco sprawls well. Franco wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. OBrien gets slowly back to his feet.
Franco swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

and Franco counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

OBrien is rocked!

Franco ducks down into range and throws a picture perfect right hook that connects with OBrien's jaw. OBrien's eyes stare off into space as he falls to the mat, out cold! Franco does the decent thing and steps back, rather than landing any shots to his unconscious opponent.
