Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Eric Fassett!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jimmy Jackman!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Ian Loll and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fassett keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Jackman.
Fassett is looking to counter punch.
Jackman throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Jackman's coach down at Temple of Fitness was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Jackman's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Jackman throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Fassett sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Jackman misses with a hook. Fassett ducked under it nicely.
Jackman lands a nice hook to Fassett's body. Fassett takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Fassett keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Fassett looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Nice takedown defense from Jackman. No joy for Fassett on that attempt.
Jackman is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

A little jabbing left from Jackman on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Fassett counters with a shoot takedown. Jackman fights it but they end up in guard.

Jackman has his foot on Fassett's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Fassett works his way back into a safe position though.

Jackman has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Fassett can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Jackman working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Fassett doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Fassett manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Fassett pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Jackman is keeping the position for now.
Jackman is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Jackman escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Fassett gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Jackman is looking for a triangle here but Fassett uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Fassett connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Jackman some visible discomfort.
Fassett creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Jackman tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Jackman is trying to work for a sweep but Fassett has mounted him!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Fassett lands with some strikes.
Fassett looking to finish Jackman with some ground and pound. This is bad for Jackman!

Fassett lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Jackman is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Jackman is in a horrible position here. Fassett smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Fassett has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Jackman's face.
Jackman keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Fassett wants to control the pace but Jackman is squirming around nicely.
Fassett pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Fassett drops a big elbow. That's hurt Jackman! More shots from Fassett and the ref steps in! The fight is over!

Eric Fassett took to the mic in his post fight interview and said 'Pekka Pouta is a very nice and respectable person, glad I had the honor to kick his ass! (:'.
