PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Damar Sulekov (ranked 2774 p4p, 2656 weight class) and Steven Seagal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Seagal has chosen Not for Sale as his entrance music. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Damar Sulekov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Steven Seagal!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Tiny Johnson and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Seagal jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Sulekov feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Sulekov is standing up over Seagal. Seagal looks to escape but Sulekov dives into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Seagal is trying to escape the position but Sulekov is controlling the position.
Seagal wants to get back to his feet but Sulekov drags him back down.
A lull in the action here as Sulekov stalls from top position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Sulekov thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Sulekov seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Seagal for as long as he can get away with.

Seagal is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Seagal really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sulekov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Sulekov is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Seagal has escaped the position, nice work there.
Sulekov is staying tight to Seagal's torso, preventing him from escaping.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Sulekov thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Sulekov is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Seagal's shoulder. That is not cool.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.


Sulekov drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Seagal wants to get back to his feet but Sulekov passes into half guard.

Well, if Sulekov is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Sulekov thows a huge punch but Seagal dodges it nicely.

Seagal is trying to stand.

Seagal pushes Sulekov off looking to stand but Sulekov dives back in and keeps control.
Sulekov content to control rather than advance.
Sulekov has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Sulekov is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Seagal can do to turn this around?

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Seagal pushes Sulekov off but Sulekov dives into side control.
Sulekov takes a little break here. Seagal wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Seagal is trying to buck Sulekov off.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Sulekov scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Seagal is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Sulekov moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Seagal wants to get back to his feet but Sulekov drags him back down.

Sulekov controls the position.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Sulekov wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Seagal, who protects the arm well.

That's time! Back to the action! And we move into the final round!

Sloppy strikes from Seagal. Those never looked like landing.

Sulekov fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Seagal to the ground. Sulekov is now in Seagal's guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sulekov accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Sulekov passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Sulekov prevents Seagal from escaping the position.
You can see the frustration on Seagal's face as Sulekov controls the position.

Sulekov has hold of Seagal's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Seagal seems comfortable defending it but Sulekov has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Seagal is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Seagal is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Sulekov couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:44 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Damar Sulekov!
