Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ernesto Romero (ranked 264 p4p, 512 weight class) and Katsu Yamasaki (ranked 21 p4p, 44 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 11 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ernesto Romero! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Katsu Yamasaki! The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Dmitry Maklakov and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Romero tries to clinch but Yamasaki is having none of it. Yamasaki changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Yamasaki looks to throw the jab but Romero is out of range. Romero rushes Yamasaki and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Romero. Romero gets through Yamasaki's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. A short right from Romero on the inside. Romero lands a right hand. A head punch on the inside from Romero fails to land. Romero fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Yamasaki has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Romero after a bit of a struggle. Yamasaki tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Romero just stands there and leans against the cage. Yamasaki ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Yamasaki no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Yamasaki can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Romero controls the pace. Yamasaki trying to control the position.
Yamasaki working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Romero doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Yamasaki is tightening it up a little... Romero has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Romero reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Romero taps out! Nice BJJ there by Yamasaki!
